For 8 months, the participants of the #startupdiplom program are to combine their academic activities with building their startup in one of the high-tech industries of TechnoSpark and to acquire first-hand basic entrepreneurial skills – competencies in technical and manufacturing analytics, organization of their personal work and that of others, calculation of economic and investment potential, sale of technologically advanced products and more. For the duration of the internship, the participants move to Troitsk (New Moscow) and get a scholarship.

The #startupdiplom program was launched in September 2019 in cooperation with the University of Tyumen and Tomsk State University with some more universities joining the program in 2020-2021.

“As the results of the material production sphere in the North Caucasus are far beyond the national average, we consider it is important to stimulate the regional economics. After the #startupdiplom internship, each participating alumni will be able to set up their own business. The university can and should be the regional economics driver,” – underlined Yuri Altudov, Rector of Kabardino-Balkarian State University. “Our university successfully implements federal projects of the Education national program; we have the experience of utilizing new educational technologies in teaching the students. Based on the experience, I believe that, complete with the entrepreneur internship, we will have all the components together: an in-house scientific infrastructure, industrial partners and such methodological partners as TechnoSpark. We are willing to learn modern approaches to the technology entrepreneurship and see the opportunities for their use in our region.”

Kabardino-Balkarian State University Named after H. M. Berbekov (KBSU) is the largest university in Kabardino-Balkaria and is among the largest universities of the North Caucasus.
