NALCHIK, February 6. /TASS/. A part of the investment network of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs (FIEP) of the RUSNANO Group – the TechnoSpark Group of Companies and Kabardino-Balkarian State University (KBSU) signed a cooperation agreement in relation to the entrepreneurship program for senior university students. TASS correspondent reports that the document was signed on Thursday by TechnoSpark CEO Denis Kovalevich and KBSU Rector Yuri Altudov.
Under the terms of the program, after a rigorous selection procedure, in their final year at the university, the students combine their major studies with creation of a high-tech startup. “We have a special company responsible for arranging these games, which have already been to many cities of absolutely different parts of Russia: Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Tyumen, Yekaterinburg, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Saransk, Kazan and St. Petersburg. The game has never been held in the North Caucasus yet; this partnership with the Nalchik university is the first in the region, so in this respect, Kabardino-Balkaria university is the most innovative of all of them,” Denis Kovalevich shared with journalists before the contract was signed.
All students being in their final year of studies are welcome to take part in the game – about 2 000 people. According to the organisers, around 200-300 will make a decision to participate in the program, however, based on the experience of other regions, only a few will pass the selection process. “KBSU decided to join us in the program investment so both the company and the university pay for the opportunity for young people to have the entrepreneur internship. We invest from 1 to 1,5 million rubles in every startup. This sum is doubled by the university. Those who will be selected, will have an opportunity to join the technology startup internship, which we start in September 2020, and the first game will be on February 29,” – Denis Kovalevich elaborated.
According to KBSU Rector Yuri Altudov, the agreement implies versatile cooperation. “This is not only about the tech entrepreneurship and the matter of teaching the tech entrepreneurship. It also means that when our students or postgraduares join the program, acquire experience and return, the region will have more people knowing what it means to be a good entrepreneur, which makes up the base for an accelerated development of our region. In addition, teaching staff of our and other universities will get an access to these programs, they will take part, have a look and gain insight into the modern technology entrepreneurship,” – Yuri Altudov added.

During the internship, students get basic entrepreneurial skills: they learn how to work with process and production analytics, how to organise their own work and the one of others, master economic and investment calculations, and sales tools specific to complex technology products. For the duration of the internship, each participant moves to Troitsk, the city of TechnoSpark location, and get a scholarship. The #startupdiplom program was launched in September 2019 in cooperation with the University of Tyumen and Tomsk State University with some more universities joining the program in 2020-2021.
Later on the same day, Denis Kovalevich gave a lecture titled “Build your company — sell your company” for KBSU students and their parents. Another lecture dedicated to technology innovation entrepreneurship was given for the teaching staff of universities and scientific centres of the Republic as well as for the office and management personnel, representatives of public authorities and businesses.
