The nanocenters of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs (FIEP) of RUSNANO Group promptly deployed the mass production of face shield visors for protection from COVID-19 with the production capacity exceeding 30 thousand units per month. On April 29, RUSNANO Group donated a batch of 1000 visors to the volunteers of the Live Fund to distribute them between the medical institutions and ER stations of Moscow. Previously, 1000 face shields were presented to the doctors from St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, and 100 screens were sent to the RAS Hospital in Troitsk (New Moscow) and the local housing and utility system staff.
RUSNANO Group donated 1000 antiviral visors to the volunteers of the Live Fund to distribute them between the medical institutions and ER stations of Moscow.
This donation by RUSNANO is extremely important. On the average, we will send about 20 shields to the ER stations and 60-80 shields to each hospital, covering about 20-30 medical institutions. As these antiviral shields are reusable, they can be washed, disinfected and used again, we will be able to cater the hospitals’ need for face shields until the end of the epidemic. At the moment there are hardly any doctors who do not work with COVID-19; infected people can be anywhere.

The FIEP Nanocenter network of RUSNANO Group responded to the critical need for individual protection equipment for the medical personnel working with COVID-19 patients and arranged face shield production at the facilities of the TechnoSpark Group of Companies in Moscow and the North-West Technology Transfer Center (NWTTC) in the Leningrad Region. Together, they have reached the production capacity of over 30 thousand protective shields per month. The shields donated to the Live Fund in Moscow have been designed and produced by TEN fab at TechnoSpark.
The face shields are made for individual protection of the eyes, respiratory tract and skin from direct exposure to small particles and viruses, also preventing incidental touching of the face. It significantly decreases the COVID-19 infection hazard. Light and convenient, the protective visors of durable plastic are reusable and easy to disinfect. The face shield can be easily adjusted to any head size. They ensure efficient protection of doctors and representatives of other contact professions, such as shop assistants and front-office operators working with customers, couriers, or clerks of the utility service provider companies.
Within the framework of charity campaigns, the face shields are provided to the doctors for free. Individuals and other companies interested in enhancing the safety of their employees can order the shields on protectface.ru.
