In June 2020, the largest education center of the south of Russia, Don State Technical University, joined the TechnoSpark partnership program of the technology entrepreneur training. University students will start working at the TechnoSpark startups from the next academic year.
The training program opens for the DSTU students the online modules of the TechnoSpark Entrepreneurship School, after which the analytic robot will select the best candidates to be admitted to the one-year #startupdiplom entrepreneur internship program at the best technology park of the country. The students enlisted by the results of the competition module and an interview will move to Moscow for a year to become technology startup builders in the high tech industry domains, including genomics, robotics, artificial diamonds, composites, optical coatings, industrial microbiology, thin-film integrated photovoltaics, additive technologies, flexible electronics, and others. During the paid internship period, the interns will work on their own, supervised by more experienced entrepreneurs.
Several years ago, we started the engineering education transformation program, focused on the problem-oriented training, development of the students’ entrepreneurship skills and increasing the share of practical learning in the curriculum. The #startupdiplom program is a perfect match for the education policy of the core university of Rostov Region, giving the future graduates a unique opportunity to try their entrepreneurship competencies not in academic cases but real startups seeking their niches in the global market.
