On July 23, a bench designed for two people to seat at a social distance labeled Against COVID-19 was set up near the Hospital of the Russian Academy of Sciences located on the Oktyabrsky Prospekt of Troitsk, New Moscow.
The design of the bench-symbol was elaborated by Industrial Design Factory while its production was carried out by TEN fab company. Both of the companies are part of the TechnoSpark Group of Companies that belongs to the investment network of the Fund for Infrastructure and Education Programs of RUSNANO.
The pandemic made us all see differently at many things, and social distancing turned out to be one of the most difficult “new normal” concepts to adjust to. The bench is meant for people to rest and talk remaining at 1.8-meter distance from each other, a distance recommended by WHO. We think that pandemic swings can return at any time and these safety measures are new normal of people’s life.

TechnoSpark donated the bench to the town as a symbol of doctors’ struggle against the dangerous virus and a reminder for all the citizens that the epidemic is far from the end, as every day hundreds of thousands of people become infected and the number of people dying is estimated in the thousands. The bench is set up in front of the main entrance of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Troitsk, that received the patients with COVID-19 at the pandemic’s peak.
