BeerGenomics launches liquid yeast of certified quality

BeerGenomics, a biotechnology company (a part of the TechnoSpark Group of Companies, which operates within the investment network of the RUSNANO Group’s Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs) has their yeast certified for compliance with the quality and safety standards and received the declaration of conformity on September 10, 2020.

BeerGenomics liquid yeast concentrate is one of the main beer components, defining its taste. The living liquid yeast is used for brewing high-quality craft beer.


In order to maintain a consistent beverage quality, yeast strains should not mutate through the lots. It is also important to maintain the number of vital cells, the yeast culture purity and cell glycogen reserves. In our yeast laboratory, apart from the  beer wort, we also use a variety of major mineral elements and minor constituents to cultivate and adequately nourish the  yeast. Ensuring a stable quality, this also allows getting the required amount of raw material in a short time.

The quality and safety of BeerGenomics yeast concentrate are proved by the declaration of conformity issued on September 10, 2020, as well as by technical specifications and independent tests. The BeerGenomics products comply with the Eurasian Customs Union Technical Regulations Safety of Food Products, and Food Products in Terms of Their Labeling.

BeerGenomics produces liquid yeast on a customised basis. The company’s catalogue comprises 20 strains for all types of beer – from lager to Russian imperial stout. In addition, the company grows yeast from brewers’ strains.

Apart from the yeast production, BeerGenomics provides craft brewers with more specialised services, such as yeast strains depositing, microbiological control of products and raw materials, reverse engineering and microbial profiling.

According to the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation, the mini-breweries quantity has increased 5.5 times from 300 to 1,665, and the craft beer share showed increase from 0 to 3% during the period from 2013 to 2019. In 2019, the Russian craft beer production was equal to 151 million litres, the total brewing products (beer, beer beverages, apple cider, perry and mead) amounted to 7,748 million litres, where 6,764 million litres belongs to the  beer part.
