The new wave of coronavirus epidemic overlapped the annual flu epidemic, overloading the healthcare system. It is impossible to stay indifferent in such a situation, so we decided to continue supporting our doctors. The visors are an effective and convenient supplement to the other equipment for protection from viral diseases.

The main functional parts of the visors are 3D printed. The production was quickly deployed in April this year by the nanocentres of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs, the TechnoSpark Group of Companies and the North-West Technology Transfer Centre. At the moment their capacities are enough to produce 30 thousand face shields per month.

The 3D printed parts ensure durability of the structure, comfortable fit on the head, precise size regulation and reduced weight compared to similar products. Made of strong plastic, the face shields are reusable and easy to disinfect. The face shields protect the eyes, respiratory tract and skin from direct exposure to small particles and viruses, prevent incidental touching of the face. This is an efficient protection against infectious diseases including coronavirus.

The shields ensure efficient protection of doctors and representatives of other contact professions, such as shop assistants and front-office operators working with customers, couriers, or clerks of the utility service provider companies. The COVID epidemic has greatly modified our social behavior habits: personal protective equipment has become a must for all service staff. Visors is one of the most convenient and aesthetic ways to keep safe.

In different charity campaigns, the nanocenters of the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs have donated over 10,000 face shields to the doctors. Individuals and other companies interested in enhancing the safety of their employees can order the shields on
