Petersburg Branch of Beer Genomics Signed a Long-Term Agreement with a Contract Brewery

The St. Petersburg branch of Beer Genomics biotechnological startup (part of the TechnoSpark group of companies and the North-West nanocenter of the investment network of the Fund for Infrastructural and Educational Programs of the RUSNANO Group) signed an agreement with Pivmasteriya 17m contract brewery on the supply of yeast for craft beer production.

Cooperation of the Pivmasteria 17m company and the St. Petersburg branch of the Beer Genomics production laboratory provides for monthly supplies of yeast cultures for the contract brewery. The first batch of yeast with a total volume of 1.5 trillion cells has already been made and will be used by the brewery to create wheat beer.

The production was carried out on modern laboratory equipment using magnetic stirring devices. The yeast safety during transportation was ensured by the Smurfit Kappa bags. Smurfit Kappa is a manufacturer of ultra-pure packaging for food products located in the Leningrad region. The package of the first batch is marked with a special label with basic information about the production date, strain name and with brief instructions for the expected brewing result.

The St. Petersburg branch of Beer Genomics biotech startup started its work in August 2021. At the moment, the company’s product catalog includes 27 strains for manufacturing various types of beer. All strains are available to clients of the St. Petersburg branch both in soft packaging for breweries and in capsules for home brewing.
