Captain of the Russia National Footbal Team played a Key World Cup 2022 qualifer wearing a carbon fiber face mask by a TechnoSpark startup

On October 8, the Russia football team played against the Slovakia team in a World Cup 2022 qualifying match. The Captain of the Russian team Daler Kuzyayev wore a face mask by ST.Mask (part of the Sport Tech cluster in the TechnoSpark group of companies of the investment network of the Fund for Infrastructural and Educational Programs of the RUSNANO Group).

Slovakia was Russia’s main opponent for second place in the group. The Russian team won the World Cup 2022 qualifying match against Slovakia with a score of 1:0.

In an interview, Daler Kuzyayev told that the mask did not cause him any inconvenience.

“We rooted for our team. And today we wish Daler Kuzyayev and the Russian team good luck in their match against Slovenia!”.

told Sergey Ermilov, the CEO of Sport Tech.

The ST.Mask company makes personal protective masks from carbon fiber to order for professional sports-people. With such masks, players can keep training and playing even after getting a face injury.

Such masks have been already worn by footballers of the Russian Premier League after a nasal fracture: by the captain of the Rubin football club Filip Uremović in August 2021, and by a Rubin’s Swiss player Darko Jevtić in November 2020. Both entered the field in the starting lineup.
