The Leading Module of the Tubot Robot Has Confirmed the Main Characteristics and Capabilities during Tests at Transneft-Diascan

In October 2021, the Tubot startup (part of the TechnoSpark group of companies with the participation of SIGMA.Novosibirsk of the investment network of the Fund for Infrastructural and Educational Programs of the RUSNANO Group) and the Transneft-Diascan company co-held demonstration tests of a traction module manufactured by Tubot for an in-pipe diagnostic robot. The tests confirmed its main characteristics and capabilities.

The tests took place in Lukhovitsy at a special test site, in a pipeline with a diameter of 530 mm with small radius bends and branches. The traction module, which ensures the movement of the robot’s diagnostic module, was developed and manufactured by Tubot in accordance with the Transneft-Diascan requirements.

During the testing, the robot easily passed the branches and demonstrated its main characteristics and functions:

  • the actual speed of movement in the pipe was 73 m/h, with the declared speed being 70 m/h;
  • the possibility of emergency extraction from the pipe;
  • the recording and storage of video images with a color video camera;
  • effective illumination of the inner surface of the pipe.

“With these tests, we summed up the interim results of research and development we began two years ago. The test report confirms that the actual capabilities of the robot designed and manufactured by us correspond to those declared. This is a step towards further development of the Tubot business. Thanks to this, we will be able to attract new customers.”
