In November 2021, the Tubot robotics startup (part of the TechnoSpark group of companies, with the participation of SIGMA.Novosibirsk of the investment network of the Fund for Infrastructural and Educational Programs of the RUSNANO Group) demonstrated in-pipe robots at the Technical Diagnostics Center of the Mosvodokanal JSC.
Tubot demonstrated the capabilities of two robots: one designed by Tubot itself and one provided by Inspector Systems GmbH (Germany), whose exclusive distributor in Russia, the CIS and China is Tubot.
The demonstration took place at a stand with a pipe 250 mm in diameter having a vertical section. Based on the results of the event, Mosvodokanal representatives have determined the most important advantages of the demonstrated robots and of the project in general, such as:
- the ability to pass vertical sections and turns;
- a wide range of robots and methods of diagnostics;
- the possibility of manufacturing robots in the Moscow area.
“The representatives of the Mosvodokanal JSC have especially appreciated the eddy current testing, which allows to identify and divide outer and inner defects of a pipe, as well as the possibility of implementing the solution in Russia in order not to depend on the supply of foreign components.”
Stanislav Rozanov, CEO of Tubot
The main areas where the Tubot robots may be used are the inspection and technical maintenance of pipes at atomic power plants, oil refineries, chemical and petrochemical plants, offshore oil platforms, gas and oil pipelines, heat pipelines and public sewer systems.
